Not being a geologist, I recently researched the differences in meaning and connotation between the word rock and stone specifically for this page.
Although I am still a bit confused, I've come to the conclusion that stone implies a rock that has been shaped or altered by mankind (a stonecutter) for some purpose.
Although the weatherproof speakers from Klipsch, OSD Audio, and OWI that are pictured on this page are obviously NOT actually make of stone, they do have a smoother, more polished, finished look to them than the rougher, more natural looking speakers featured on the outdoor rock speakers page.
Be sure to purchase and run direct burial speaker wire from your amplifier to each location you will be setting up your outdoor speakers. |
